Japanese Police Cabinet Photo

Gents,

I thought I would post a large cabinet size photograph of a pre-WWII Japanese Policeman wearing his blue winter uniform. The professional photo is still in the folded cardboard case that came from the photographer. This policeman is holding his sword which has two suspension bands and rings thus dating it to prior to WWII when sword regulations changed to eliminate the lower ring for wear with a different sword hanger with a single strap or chain. This policeman has an "8" on his collar indicating his precinct and interestingly has an unidentified patch on the left arm. His rank of Police Sub-Inspector is shown by his shoulder boards and cap trim.
