Luftwaffe Belt Buckle

Reverse side of above buckle. I believe it is made of steel. The dark color almost looks brass, but a magnet will stick to it.

Here is a Luftwaffe Belt and Buckle that is tab dated 1940. The date and maker mark is very faint, so I cannot get a clear photo. This is a steel buckle and the belt has a felt lining that is a bit worn. There is also a number 96 that I suppose is a size.

Here is the above Luftwaffe belt and buckle rolled up. You can see the lining. Not sure if this was an officer or enlisted belt. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than me can provide more information. I have had these a very long time and just now dug them out of storage.

This Luftwaffe Buckle is aluminum and has a visible tab date of 1937 and legible Ludensheid as the origin. I'll post the other views below.

Last two photos of the aluminum Luftwaffe Belt and Buckle that show the 100 size on the end and the markings on the inside of the buckle. I want to believe that one of these must have been worn by a German Paratrooper at one time. Your comments are welcome.

You have a fantastic collection of LW Belts and Buckles! Much nicer than the one I have in my collection. Your belt with the felt liner would be enlisted, my guess would be a private purchase item. I find it interesting that they tab to attach the belt is so short when compared to standard Wehrmacht belts.

I love the lined belt probably for a dress uniform so the leather doesn’t mark it. It’s more commonly seen on Heer enlisted man’s patent leather parade dress belts.
