Kanemono Posted November 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2018 This is a rare Model 1867 Reserve Infantry Officers Pickelhaube. Franco-Prussian War era black leather helmet with brass trim. It has a Prussian eagle front plate with applied Reserve cross. The helmet is complete with a right side single Prussian state cockade as is correct for this early pattern. This helmet also has flat brass chin scales and no rear brass spine. The interior has the multi fingered leather liner and correct split rivets securing the spike base. An officers helmet is indicated by pearling on spike and stars on the round spike base. The Prussian eagle has a cut out crown. The rear visor is a restoration.
