Kanemono Posted November 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2018 Here is a frame with a jeweler made 1920's PLM, a 1871 dated Grand Cross, Vaulted EK1 and EK2. I will write up each of them when I get a chance.

Jumpmaster Posted November 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted November 23, 2018 Dick Just marvelous. The GC is superb, looking forward to the story of each. I have similar PLM so I’m interested in background of yours. How did you come by this? It’s just simple but elegant and powerful.
Kanemono Posted November 24, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted November 24, 2018 Prussia order of the Pour le Mérite post WWI.This order is a jewelers´ production of the post WWI period. This is a copy of a late WW1 Wagner made PLM. The obverse lettering and crown details are a lot 'chunkier' than original wartime silver gilts. The fact it is bronze gilt certainly also dates it post 1918, so while it is not an 'original' it is a high quality replacement piece. After 1918 many PLM recipients purchased a jeweler made piece as dress copy, to prevent damage to their original presentation piece or because their awarded medal was damaged during the War. The cross in gilt bronze, with nice blue enamel on both sides, it has the loop suspension and is complete with the original neck ribbon. This PLM came out of a collection that was put together before World War Two. I bought this piece in the late 1960's. .

Skysoldier80 Posted April 26, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 26, 2019 That is a great display and collection. I find it amazing how you can make an item (s) stank out by putting a little effort is the display piece.
