stratasfan Posted November 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2018 This is Prince Johannes of Liechtenstein in full uniform. He was an attache for a while, and my sister is transcribing memoirs of a British lady who danced with him at an Embassy ball. Was wondering if anyone can help ID the medals that he is wearing. Thanks! I think this is an amazing portrait, and isn't it just the type we all wish wee had for each serviceman!

mikie Posted July 28, 2019 Share #4 Posted July 28, 2019 Don't know about the medals, but he reminds me a little of Barry Manilow with a moustache. I have a terrible memory for names and think my brain tries to make up for it by trying to match faces with lookalikes.
stratasfan Posted July 29, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted July 29, 2019 Yeah . . . he sort of does a bit! Sis and I often see resemblances to famous people when looking at pictures. One of the young men who died with my GGGUncle in WWII looks like Richard Egan's brother! Sis is an archivist for a titled family in the UK, and the brother of the first Earl looks like a dead ringer for a British actor we see in a bunch of period things! We have a friend, who was the Mom of some of our best friends growing up, and she is sooooooooo much like Julie Andrews, that it is uncanny! And the older they get, the more they are alike! Even the way they talk and accent their words, etc. Always fun!
