Dan_the_Hun Posted November 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2018 Nothing too exciting, nice DRGM but sentimental for me. This was given to me by a longtime family friend when I was a kid named Horst Kuster, he served from 40-44 and was captured in Italy by Polish forces, escaped from them and surrendered to the Americans. He later immigrated to the states and lived here until his death at 90. He was wounded four times in total- still had some shrapnel in his legs until the day he died. Herr Kuster wore this badge on his Bavarian cardigan jacket at the local German club for decades, eventually gave it (along with his TR black wound badge, EKII and ostmedallie) to me. He wore the Imperial version of the silver so as not to get anyone younger in a "huff" by wearing the TR version.
