stratasfan Posted November 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2018 This is one that has Sis and the family stumped. This has been identified as an Officer's Mameluke sword to the 60th Regiment of Foot. If the scabbard is plated (and not brass), then the sword would be post 1900. I think, from the photo, that it's not brass, but any opinions on that one would be helpful. I'm not aware, so far, of any family member with the 60th --- so this is a bit of a mystery at this point. Really pretty, and the ivory handle is amazing! Detail of "60" etching: Link to comment

stratasfan Posted November 15, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted November 15, 2018 This is the sword on the rack at the family house. I've been wanting to share these for ages! Sis has been working on helping the family ID these for over a year now. Really fun project! I love helping with the swords! Link to comment
