French Uniform Button by Hortsmann?

I've seen French Artillery Officer's button with the same crossed cannon and the flaming bomb above them. However, I've only seen French maker backs. Being that this is marked Philadelphia is different.

I also know that the Turks made buttons in a similar pattern, copying the French, but the backs are typically in Turkish on those.

The possible explanation is that during either WWI or II American makers made them as a wartime time thing, after 1917 in WWI we should think, maybe starting in 1940 in WWII.

Thank you so much for the help and information.

I found a button maker list and it said( the way it is marked) it dates from 1893-1935.
