PaulR Posted November 18, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2018 I want to take a bit to show you my LW collection of cloth items. I hope that you like everything. These first two photos are of an overview of my uniforms. I tend to stray away from the mainstream. I enjoy the truly obscure and underappreciated. The first featured tunic is a Belgian version made into a LW Generalluftzeugmeister.
PaulR Posted November 18, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted November 18, 2018 The chest eagle is firmly placed onto the tunic and the backing is covered with a r piece of cloth. This insignia is often misidentified as a visor eagle, but these men were not permitted to wear visor caps. All period photos of these men show this eagle as a chest insignia. The visor cap theory is completely post-war.
PaulR Posted November 18, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted November 18, 2018 Next is another Generalluftzeugmeister, this one from a converted French uniform. The Overseas hat is completely German manufacturer. They never had eagles on their headgear, until later when they started using standard LW overseas caps. The Oberfeldwebel is from one of several possibilities- cartography, test aviation, ordnance, or aviation photography analysis.

PaulR Posted November 18, 2018 Author Share #8 Posted November 18, 2018 . Named Flak tunic from a member of the 49th FL Reg. This very unit was destroyed at Stalingrad. The signals intelligence school tunic is mint. Never worn, but sadly, there is mild mothing to the back (a few pinholes), but still super rare.
