us82bravo Posted November 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 23, 2018 I acquired a collection of military insignia from a good friend about 30 years ago. The majority of items were British and Canadian with some US insignia and appear to be from the World War 1 to 1930's era. My primary interest is US insignia so the foreign items went into storage. I recently dug them out and will be posting some of the items on this Forum. Shown here is a cap badge and button from the Canadian Pacific Overseas Service (some references give the name - Canadian Pacific Steamships Ocean Services Ltd) From the Canadian Pacific website history 'war effort' section - During the Great War (WWI) the CPR ocean going ships and Allan Line were amalgamated on October 1, 1915 and on January 1, 1916 Canadian Pacific Ocean Services, Limited was formed. It was renamed again on September 1, 1921 to Canadian Pacific Steamships Limited. dag Posted November 24, 2018 Share #5 Posted November 24, 2018 Very cool. Thanks for posting. As a button collector, I really liked the CPOS button, which is listed in Van Court's book on Maritime buttons, reference 91/12. Awesome button.
