us82bravo Posted December 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 2, 2018 From the World War 1 to 1930's era collection acquisition - From the 'Canadian Centre For The Great War' website - Canada began the formation of a tank corps in January 1918 with recruitment for the Canadian Tank Corps. Before this point, Canadian divisions had been provided with tanks and crews by the British 4th Tank Brigade, with 1 tank battalion per division. Canada’s first tank battalion arrived in England for training in July 1918 and was almost ready for deployment to the front when the war ended. In all, 3 battalions were recruited and 2 trained; the corps was dissolved after the war and re-started at the beginning of World War II.
