509thPIB Posted December 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2018 Reference books are a key part of collecting and you can tell a lot about a collector by his/her reference library. With that said, not all reference books are created equal. Some are worth the price, while others aren't. The best reference material is in French and a serious collector should have a working knowledge of the language. In the United States you have the ASMIC Trading Post. In France you have the quarterly publication of Symboles & Traditions. This publication has articles on medals and insignia. They have also published some specialty books over the years
509thPIB Posted December 15, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted December 15, 2018 Unfortunately these specialty bulletins only contain black and white drawings. Here are some of their specialty bulletins: http://www.symboles-et-traditions.fr/form/page-bulletinsspeciaux.htm
