RRA227 Posted January 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 1, 2019 Austrian M-17 helmet like the German M-16 helmet but liner mounting and chinstrap differ. This helmet is marked"Taken on the drive to Metz" Austrian troops were in the Lorraine Front, Meuse-Argonne sector. Metz is on the Lorraine Front. Rich A. in Pa. SARGE Posted January 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2019 A very nice camo helmet with the Austrian chin strap still intact. Generally these canvas straps are in bits and pieces.
