Mexican 201 Squadron - Aguilas Aztecas Visor cap

Mexico contributed one squadron to the Allied cause. The Aguilas Aztecas were attached and flew with the US 58th Fighter Group in the Philippines during the later part of WWII. They were a P-47 Thunderbolt squadron. Along with the cap I've shown a photo of some of the squadron pilots in front of their hut in the Philippines. The cap is marked on the inside with the manufacturer's name and Mexico City.

Great piece of history. I believe the insignia below the roundel is the rank of the individual wearing the cap.

Thanks Irish. You are correct the insignia is for the rank of First Captain (Capitan Primero).
