Here is a few more pics of material from my West German insignia collection. As before please point out any non West German material to me as I know I may be wrong on some of my IDs and I always want to learn more. Regards,

Robert

I am thinking "Sky Servant" in photo 1 was ground support for either the US Army or USAF aviation in Bavaria. But I am unsure as to the specific unit.

pic 4

The insignia in picture 4 were for a combined French and German Brigade. The round piece was a beret insignia, you have two variations of the pocket hanger, and the shoulder sleeve insignia. Nice set and not very common I don't believe.

I actually thought the skyservant patch was related to the Fokker DO-28 skyservant flown by Germany. Antone know if this is accurate? or is it a US patch

Gil, the Skyservant patch is listed in Joe Lyndhurst's book "Military Collectibles" as unidentified US Army Aviation patch. This site lists it as German Air Force patch of a Do 28 unit:

https://www.airforcecollectables.com/German-Air-Force-Patch-62-LTG-Lufttransportgeschwader-7-Do-28-1P-05GM-1GAF-02WIN-1OP-062LTG-03.htm

I doubt that this is the correct designation of the LTG, because LTG 62 was garrisoned in northern Germany. I'm only guessing but it could also be some kind of manufacturer's patch since the Do 20 SKYSERVANT planes were build in Oberpfaffenhofen, Bavaria.

Gil is spot-on. The D/F Brigade (Deutsch/Französiche Brigade) was formed in 1989. It's still active so insignia are rather easy to find. Many different variants of German and French pocket hangers do exist.
