Here are two pieces of insignia I have had not luck with as of yet. Any help would be appreciated. Robert
Tonomachi Posted February 2, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 2, 2019 Your piece on the right is a WW2 Italian officer's Arditi qualification patch worn on the left arm between the shoulder and elbow. I forget what FERT written across the sword hilt stood for. The Arditi were an elite shock troop formation during WW1 and they were brought back during WW2 as a kind of special forces unit. The patch is sought after by collectors.
JB Floyd Posted February 2, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 2, 2019 "FERT" comes from the arms of the House of Savoy. It is an acronym which seems to be translated in various ways. There is a Wikipedia page for "FERT" which has some of the translations.
