Thought I would start a thread for anyone who wants to show their Schirmmütze collection. I only have one to offer, but I have always liked its saddle shape....reminds me of something George Peppard's Lt Bruno Stachel would have worn in "The Blue Max". This one is piped for Pioneer, Artillery, Transport, and flying (both aircraft and zeppelin). It is of a summer weight material with a black velvet band. Both cockades are multi-piece construction. The liner is an artificial silk with a paper thin leather sweat band. The original owners initials: I. W. appear on the liner. I would welcome seeing other examples!

pvon,

These are all generally called a peaked cap or visor cap in English.  A German visor cap that is made in the saddle form top style is called a Schirmmutze.  The alternate round top shape looks like a plate so it is called a Tellermutze.

I hope this is helpful.
