River Patrol Posted March 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 20, 2019 I'm not a frack bar collector but I do love anything Mecklenburg. The South West African campaign medal in steel is a nice addition too!
triplecanopy Posted March 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2019 Your medal grouping is way outside my collecting field or normal area of interest, but I would love to know what each medal means since without an explanation some of us have no idea what history is associated with them. From a learning stand point and if you have time, could you explain their significance? Thanks in advance.
Mr.Jerry Posted March 20, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 20, 2019 That is a super nice bar on several levels! I really like the enamels and any of the Hansiatic state medals.
River Patrol Posted March 20, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted March 20, 2019 The bar is designed for wearing on dress clothing along the wearer's left lapel and the sequence is essentially backwards, although the EKII will maintain priority precedence since it will remain at the top most point. EKII (Prussian) Hohenzolleran House Order (Prussian) FFII (Mecklenburg's "Iron cross" equivalent) Hamburg cross (Hanseatic cross) Prussian Landwehr service cross (long service for 25yr) Kyfesserbund (veteran's group) South West African Campaign medal (in steel, so this is a non-combatant award) 1893 Kaiser Wilhelm II Jubilee (Prussian) - had to be in the German Army prior to 1893 to wear this award
