I have a medal that says Ludwig II Koenig V. Bayern on one side and has the dates : 28.8.184513.6.1886 along with some script writing on the other. It has a red ribbon also. Seems to be made of silver. This site says the pic is too big to load. Can anyone identify this medal?

Yeah it is the same medal.  I think it is simply a commemoration medal of his death.  Here are shots of it.

Thanks for the information, I was told that it is silver also. Would this be true?

That medal is just a modern piece of "metal". About ten years ago if my memory is working some wine distributor had these tied around the bottle necks.  I doubt that it is silver.  I was wondering how long it would take for this one to start haunting the collecting world.
