Brig Posted April 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 27, 2019 I'm guessing this is French or British, but not sure. Rather large and heavy bursting bomb insignia, with red backing. Picked it up an an assortment of international items. Can anyone ID the item and era? Shown next to an Iron Cross for size
qed4 Posted April 28, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 28, 2019 It is rather hard to tell since the flaming bomb is used so universally but from the size and way it fastens it could be a chevrac (saddle blanket insignia) for a US mounted ordnance officer. Staff officers used their branch insignia while line officers used their unit number and letter.
Brig Posted April 28, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 28, 2019 There was also Span-Arm-WWI era US insignias in the lot, I'll try USMF
