Bob Hudson Posted May 9, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 9, 2019 Greek to me... Dirk officer marine. Greece, early 20th century. Blade, straight, flat, double-edged, with two narrow valleys, with a long flat heel, polished. On the heel on the front side there is an inscription "APXEZОAI MA0ЕN APXEIN EPIE". The handle is made of white plastic, barrel-shaped with spiral double grooves. On these grooves, the handle is wrapped with twisted brass wire. The head of the handle is brass, relief, in the form of a crown. Cross-shaped cast brass. The crosshair is in the form of a rectangular block, decorated on both sides with the image of a double-headed eagle with slightly lowered wings. On the crosshairs there is a spring latch button for the dagger retainer in the sheath. The ends of the cross are tapered. The scabbard is brass, solid, decorated with a relief ornament made of oak leaves and acorns on a scaly background. The scabbard device consists of a thin mouth and two superimposed nuts decorated with a traditional Greek rectangular snake. At the end of the scabbard there is an oval button with a belt, decorated with an ornament of oak leaves and acorns. Between the mouth and the top nut on both sides there is a relief image of the coat of arms of Greece.
