Tonomachi Posted June 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2019 I've had this for a while and so far no one has been able to identify which country wore this particular paratrooper wing. The closest we have been able to come up with that is similar is a Japanese Self Defense Force basic paratrooper wing. It is similar only in that they are both white in color with an outstretched wing design on OD material. However if you compare this with three known examples they don't match up. I don't think there was ever a theater made version of the Japanese paratrooper wing because the Japanese Self Defense Force hasn't really participated in overseas conflicts. So any ideas? Tonomachi Posted June 29, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted June 29, 2019 Almost looks Korean made Thanks for his identification of possible manufacture as it is a lead to follow. Here is a sample of South Korean paratrooper wings. There are three South Korean types of paratrooper wings being worn by their Army, Marine Corps and Intelligence Corps. Within this group is an older piece along the lower left hand corner that has an outstretch wing design on OD material but is yellow instead of white. I think the yellow indicates early S. Korean Marine Corps but their could have been an all white Army version.
