gwb123 Posted July 19, 2019 Share #7 Posted July 19, 2019 Not my area of expertise. It could range from WWII to the Cold War. For our experts, you will want to show the clasp on the backside as well.

mikie Posted July 31, 2019 Share #9 Posted July 31, 2019 I don't think the Soviets would have used this symbol during their long occupation of the Ukraine. It was a symbol of Ukrainian nationalism before the Russians took it over after WWI. The Nazi collaborators did use it. And the new Ukrainians used it after the Cold War ended . RRA227 Posted August 1, 2019 Author Share #10 Posted August 1, 2019 Thanks for the help. What I would like to know when they stopped using leather for the belt. None of the Soviet belts I have are leather. Rich A. in Pa.
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted August 19, 2019 Share #11 Posted August 19, 2019 Sorry dont know anything about Ukrainian gear, but on another forum I saw a leather belt that had been used by the Ukrainians in Iraq in 2003. Of course that doesnt answer how late they were made of leather, but if they were being used I would guess they were being made of leather in the 90s at least. Not much use I know, but hopefully better than nothing
