Wildcat123 Posted August 19, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 19, 2019 Thought Id post this one to share since I was asking questions on another flag. This was brought back by one of my great uncles who served in the Pacific. He was an AAF clerk and was on the ground on Iwo Jima pretty quickly after the airfield was captured. He recovered this flag from an Japanese soldiers backpack. It was left to me, along with a rifle and Navy samurai sword when he passed away. POFmilitaria Posted August 27, 2019 Share #8 Posted August 27, 2019 Amazing flag. I also have a Japanese flag captured by a member of the AAF on Iwo Jima. Very cool to see another one! Jacob
