Kanemono Posted August 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2019 Here is a Naval Kai-Gunto officers pattern sword introduced to the navy in the early 1930’s based on the traditional tachi (slung sword) and a Shin Guntō used by the Imperial Japanese Army. Both of these swords have early signed blades and were surrendered to Rear Admiral James Kepler Davis in 1945.

SARGE Posted August 21, 2019 Share #4 Posted August 21, 2019 Two very nice swords Kanemono. Is the sword blade that is in Naval mounts a Gensui-to (Little Crow Style) style blade? Or perhaps an earlier Kogarasu-maru (The Little Crow) blade? It appears to have a narrow central fuller and a rendition of the kiku on the tang.
