Duuster Posted October 10, 2019 Share #1 Posted October 10, 2019 These Wings were found on a muddy path near a WWII memorial site and crash location of a US military pilot in the Netherlands. Most likely this belongs to a visitor who came to pay his respects, I'd say, or could it be...? I'm trying to determine the maximum age. Some people have suggested it is WWII era and even possibly a relic from the crash. I'm doubtful; it's a clutchback and my impression so far is that during those days pinbacks were more common, and I'd expect it to be in worse condition after all those years. Proud Kraut Posted October 10, 2019 Share #2 Posted October 10, 2019 Welcome to the WMF, Duuster! Jump Wings are not my field of expertise but the pins of your wings are similar to those which were used by a couple of German U.S. insignia manufacturers like Poellath or Kalka. The insignia I'm talking about are postwar of course. Have you checked our sister forum, the U.S. Militaria Forum? I'm sure you'll get an answer there at once. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/ Lars
Wake1941 Posted October 10, 2019 Share #3 Posted October 10, 2019 The wings posted are old with the dimples on the back Idd think they were German or Japanese Made

Rayray Posted October 17, 2021 Share #5 Posted October 17, 2021 Most from that time period would be marked sterling. And paratroops didn’t wear their jumpwings in the field
