SAS Insignia Groupings Many Are Bidding On - IMO All Copies

I stumbled upon these three different listings on eBay from the same seller in the UK which a bunch of people have already bid on. In my opinion none of this stuff which is advertised as WW2 are genuine period pieces but copies. The first grouping is a number of SAS wings with 29 bids currently at $680.68. All of these wings to include the two shoulder tabs are in my opinion copies (see link).

This second grouping with 22 bids currently at $261.80 are all copies in my opinion (see link) except for the Mars & Minerva Artist Rifles badge. However this is not the correct post war Artist Rifles beret badge worn by the 21 SAS.

Lastly the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG) beret badge with 8 bids currently at $73.30 is a copy (see link). Whomever wins these bids are eventually going to get a rude awakening when they found out they bought nothing but junk.

Agreed, Most are FAKES mixed with couple of Post War items.

This is same eBay Seller Grandads-loft & Insomnia-parents, the seller has like 6 different eBay accounts that he sells under, offering nothing but Trash Bins items as Orginials. Buyer Beware unless you're looking for a place holder.

The early pattern 1st SAS ST were hand embroidered not machine embroidered.

Beret badges are poorly made examples.

Wings are Laughable!

LRDG cap insignia are poorly made FAKES.

Sadly, complete reproductions with one or two post war badges added. The disappointing thing is that the seller provides clear front and back photos so there's little excuse for being fooled.

Only one person bid of this fake LRDG beret badge at $499.00 which you never know may not have been a legitimate bid as only one person bid.

Far from an expert on SAS insignia but I do own a couple (2) which came directly from the veteran (Lt. Josef "Jos" Ghys) which may (or may not) be interesting to look at from a reference perspective.

The first one is tunic removed and really worn. You can see a portion of the cardboard guide underneath.

Hi Eric,

Nice wings. The first one looks to be a locally made wing and the second one on the battle dress is a 1944 pattern issued wing. I'll post some photos of my WW2 SAS wings shortly.
