This example, manufactured in 1917 by Waring & Gillow, Ltd. is in superb condition. The strap adjustment buckle on this example is made of stamped brass, as opposed to cast brass seen on some examples.

The brass adjusting buckle -found on the carrying strap- was commonly manufactured as a cast brass assembly, though some examples are of stamped brass manufacture illustrating the side effects of wartime demands.
