This is a dress uniform from a Commando in the Zaire Armed Forces from the Mobutu time period. The uniform is named to a Captain Diomi-Nzozi. Year of manufacture appears to be 1988. All insignia, aside from the Commando patch, are bullion. All buttons have a leopard pouncing outwards.

Neat piece Arch. I like the bullion work. Would not have known what it was if I had seen it sitting somewhere. How much interest is there in items like this?

Thanks

Eric

Eric,

TBH......I don't see a lot of dress items coming out of Africa, so it is hard to judge the interest of other collectors. Probably not the answer you wanted, but an honest one at least.

Great piece Arch

I use to have a foriegn jump wing collection.

Many of the Afican nations have a very French influance to the uniforms and insignias due to the long history of France being in Africa
