Spaff Posted October 23, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 23, 2018 Heavy French cavalry sword made by Coulaux & Co, Klingenthal, France. Inscription places the manufacture date between 1856 and 1870. Would definitely do a number on a foot soldier from a charging horse! It's a long one, 43" with a 36" blade. I wish I had the scabbard.
Spaff Posted October 25, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted October 25, 2018 M1854 is the model, but it was made when France still held the area.
