triplecanopy Posted October 31, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2018 I am told that this is an Afrika Corps belt and buckle. This buckle is made of steel and has a J.F.S. marking that is hard to see. Both the belt and buckle are in excellent condition. The tab is dated 1941. triplecanopy Posted October 31, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted October 31, 2018 Here are the last two photos of the Afrika Corps Belt and Buckle. From the condition, I don't believe that this set saw much use.

DocCollector1441 Posted November 20, 2018 Share #8 Posted November 20, 2018 The photo of OPs buckle looks standard feldgrau to me, but I cannot tell if it is just the way the color is coming out on my computer screen. With the leather tab, I would just consider that a standard buckle on a tropical belt, but of course the standard buckles with leather tabs were used in Africa, the Mediterranean, and Southern Russia on tropical belts. The web tabs that are on Rich A's buckles is something I would more closely associate with a true tropical buckle.

Gwar Posted April 19, 2020 Share #13 Posted April 19, 2020 Never consider a Heer buckle tropical unless it has a web tab, the paint coloring is to be found on a array of buckles.
