riflegreen297 Posted November 3, 2018 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2018 I have had these for quite a while. Quite a few I received from guys in the Russian Airborne units that I worked with in Bosnia and Kosovo. Not really jump wings per say more like a moral badge with the unit motif in center. The document in the center is the Russian orders awarding me the Russian parachutist badge. The badge I was given at the ceremony is the pictured Soviet era badge w/ a 1 hanger. AKC123 Posted April 7, 2022 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2022 That’s awesome. Care to share the context of how/why you were awarded this? I’m sure many would love to hear. Thanks for sharing
motorhate Posted November 9, 2022 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2022 The one with the triangular attachment denotes a recruit who has completed on parachute jump. As the completed jump numbers would go up the attachments would reflect the number of jumps. Veterans who'd completed hundreds of jumps would have the number as part of the badge, denoted in the other similar coloured badge (this one denotes 100 jumps and looks to be an instructor badge). I've seen badges that number up into the 1000s. The other ones look to be modern Russian Spetsnaz jump wings.
