The SS pullover smock

By 1940 demand for the pullover stepped up with more units being issued the camouflage jackets.
Production changed slightly with rollers being used in the printing process increasing yardage.
The m 40 jacket had a simpler placket lacking the square.
The blurred edge pattern makes its debut and was seen till wars end on every front.

I have read in a Div Nord book the troops referred to this as smoke pattern and here you can see why

It's worth noting the use of all fabric in the build

Whole garment showing typical wartime winter shades of browns

Background is the new oak which will be increasingly used in garments

Cuffs still running on the selvedge

As the war progressed this process got confused with odd ball sewing jobs.
But m38 m 40 is consistent.
