Hsin C. Posted November 17, 2018 #1 Posted November 17, 2018 Here are some of my Chinese WWII hats. I think these three were brought back by CBI vets.
patches Posted November 18, 2018 #2 Posted November 18, 2018 Very interesting, not something seen and in excellent condition to boot.
patches Posted November 18, 2018 #3 Posted November 18, 2018 Interesting cap badge on the one on the right end, what is it a U.S. Pack Howitzer? may we see a closer view of that?
RRA227 Posted November 19, 2018 #4 Posted November 19, 2018 Love the hats. Wish I had one. Rich A. in Pa.
Hsin C. Posted November 23, 2018 Author #5 Posted November 23, 2018 Thanks patches and RRA227 Here is the requested close up. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. "5REG 238" I think the 238 is the badge number. These pins were like passes and were individually serial numbered and assigned to a person. On the back it says "Used in the 34th Year (1945)"

patches Posted November 23, 2018 #7 Posted November 23, 2018 Thanks Hsin, when you say Badge Number, would this mean the Soldier's individual serial number, or say his, what we call in the American Military, his Unit Roster Number?
MattS Posted November 23, 2018 #8 Posted November 23, 2018 I see what appear to be 3 different types of cap badges, cloth, enamel, and painted. Nice collection!
daniel griffin Posted November 24, 2018 #9 Posted November 24, 2018 Very hard to find hats, thanks for posting them.
Hsin C. Posted November 25, 2018 Author #10 Posted November 25, 2018 I think it is just a badge number assigned to that person, not a soldier's number stamped to the pin. Thanks Matt and Daniel
Hsin C. Posted June 21 Author #11 Posted June 21 An update.. I think the ski cap on the right may not be real. It didn't have many similarities to originals and had a modern baseball cap visor shape. Although the artillery pin is still original, probably pinned on to the hat to make it more legit.
Hsin C. Posted June 22 Author #13 Posted June 22 Thanks Patches. Still lurking at times. Here is an update on a hat I recently got.. The one on the right is not in the best shape, still a decent deal. The hat badge came off over time. It does have a name in it. Plus, similar in construction to the other two.
