Here is an insignia that is not often seen.

 

AFNORTH was created by SHAPE with HQ established in 1951, which was originally located in London and later moved Kolsås outside Oslo in June 1951. The commander-in-chief (CINCNORTH) of HQ Allied Forces Northern Europe was a British Admiral or General for most of its existence.
