Hermann Posted August 4, 2021 Author Share #51 Posted August 4, 2021 This set belonged to Lieutenant-Colonel Gerben Sonderman, a friend of Prince Bernhard. He was a pre WW2 flyer, very active in the resistance in WW2 and a test pilot with Fokker after WW2. He died in the US in Hagerstown, Maryland on October 20, 1955 during a demonstration flight with a Fokker S.14 plane. After WW2 he was an Adjudant of Queen Juliana and accompanied the Royal couple during some state visits, hence the array of foreign decorations. His medals now reside in the National Military Museum of the Netherlands in Soesterberg. Herman
Hermann Posted September 18, 2021 Author Share #52 Posted September 18, 2021 A really nice set, still unidentified, but with an Inauguration medal of Queen Wilhelmina (1898), a Royal Commemorative medal of her marriage to Prince Henry in 1901 and a German Kriegsdenkmunze of the war between Germany and France of 1870. The other two are a Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion and an Officers service cross. A really rare set. I love it. Regards Herman

Hermann Posted July 13, 2022 Author Share #58 Posted July 13, 2022 Thanks Page-Hendryx, your set was worn by a Dutch Marine Corps NCO who saw service in the First Gulf War and with the UN in Cambodia in 1993-94. He participated 8 times in the Nijmegen four days marching event. Has the Bronze Faithfull service medal (12 years service for military below the rank of 2nd Lieutenant) and the Marine Operation medal. A very nice group dated around 1995 to 2000. Regards Herman easterneagle87, you will love this one.
