Hermann Posted August 4, 2021 Author #51 Posted August 4, 2021 This set belonged to Lieutenant-Colonel Gerben Sonderman, a friend of Prince Bernhard. He was a pre WW2 flyer, very active in the resistance in WW2 and a test pilot with Fokker after WW2. He died in the US in Hagerstown, Maryland on October 20, 1955 during a demonstration flight with a Fokker S.14 plane. After WW2 he was an Adjudant of Queen Juliana and accompanied the Royal couple during some state visits, hence the array of foreign decorations. His medals now reside in the National Military Museum of the Netherlands in Soesterberg. Herman

The other two are a Knight in the Order of the Dutch Lion and an Officers service cross. A really rare set. I love it. Regards Herman
