WWII Japanese Anti- American & British Hat Patches

These are WWII Japanese Home Front Anti-US & British Patriotic Hat Patches.

 

Almost a silk woven construction.

 

When we found these in Japan we were told they were worn on hats and clothing as a patriotic saying. Similar to Remember Pearl Harbor for us.

 

They roughly translate to Annihilate American's & British .

They are written in (one of the two) Japanese syllabic writing systems KATAKANA.

 

They (both) say BEIEI GEKIMETSU which means "Destroy America and Britain"

 

This is how it would be written in Kanji = 米英撃滅
