T Ambrosini Posted January 14, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2019 Thought I'd start a 7.92 mm ammo thread. I'll be adding more as I take better photos with headstamps. Please pile on with photos of whatever you have stashed in your collections! Up first... SmE round with lacquered steel case and double extractor grooves. I'm surprised this casing made it through quality control but then again it was 1944... Its loaded with powder, primed and projectile seated. No photo of the headstamp but it reads: dom St+ 12 44 Tom

T Ambrosini Posted January 17, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 17, 2019 That is a nice, concise reference. I have relied on several older sources for this sort of information in the past, particularly Daniel Kent's book. Kent's book is hand illustrated and it's nice to see color photos of the various ammo types. Thanks for posting the link. highly recommended http://waffen-welt.de/bilder/DiePatrone7.92x57.pdf dom Westfälische Metall Industrie A.G., Lippstadt, Westfalen St+ steel sleeve with reduced wall thickness
