SARGE Posted January 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2019 Gents, Here is an interesting variation of the standard Luftwaffe Enlisted Man belt buckle. This one is called a "crank catch" variation by collectors because of the way it fastens. Notice the face is the same as any other Luftwaffe EM buckle but there is a heavy duty movable catch on the back. Also notice the dated maker leather tab attached to the buckle. SARGE Posted January 19, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 19, 2019 Thanks guys. Yes, the early "droop tail" eagle is indicative of the early Luftwaffe insignia. This tab is dated "!935" so an early example indeed. Also, notice that this was an item of issue having unit markings on the tab as well.
