Misc: Enamel French Cocade pin, 1940

French Cocade, designed by Victor Silson, 1940. Gold-plated/enamel.

 

This pin was done in 1940 for the Fall of France. Apparently, they were sold to raise money for French aid. However, very little remains about this. As there was no Misc. or Homefront board, I post it here so that you can see this cool piece of homefront jewelry! I love patriotic homefront/sweetheart pins, and french themed ones are the tops!

 

I didn't take a picture with a ruler, but it is 2 3/4 inches tall. Weighs a good deal, too. You'd have to wear this on a sweater or jacket. something heavy.
