mikie Posted January 26, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted January 26, 2019 Wonderful cards, 45govt! You got the big guns! There is real artistry in his photographs. I didn't know where to put these either. Figured they were wearing uniforms so put them here. Mikie

gwb123 Posted January 26, 2019 Share #8 Posted January 26, 2019 Please, what exactly are "Sanke" cards?
mikie Posted January 26, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted January 26, 2019 Willi Sanke was a German photographer who produced a series of postcards mostly featuring German aces and flying heroes during WWI. The high quality, and the subjects of his cards made them popular collectables from the time they were first issued right up to today. 45govt Posted January 28, 2019 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2019 Hello I scanned the rest of my Sanke cards and have posted below The names are on the cards, most of these have the PLM for a certain number of enemy shot down. Note the photo of Richthofen with the autograph is a copy, believe me I could not afford an original The very bottom is two photos of British pilots the photos or cards are about the size of cigarette cards so I do not know if they are actually period photos or?? Not sure on this one
