RememberThe5thESB Posted January 29, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2019 Hey there, new to this forum, decided to make my first post, I dont generally collect any foreign militaria but my grandfather picked this one up for me for Christmas. Was wondering if anyone could give opinions about it, its authenticity etc. Thanks! Sent from my SM-J327V using Tapatalk
doyler Posted January 29, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 29, 2019 Its real.Well worn aluminum example and traces of the green paint on the back. Is there a leather tab on the buckle ? They are dated there as well.

SARGE Posted January 29, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 29, 2019 The belt has the proper aluminum catch for this style of buckle so the belt is original to the buckle as well. Thanks for showing.
RememberThe5thESB Posted January 29, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted January 29, 2019 Thanks for the info. I was told in a note that came with it that it belonged to a certain soldier, and that they are currently working on getting a picture of him wearing it, as well as more info in general. Out of curiosity, would this belt have been worn in the field or is it a kind of ceremonial belt, for like parades? RememberThe5thESB Posted January 29, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted January 29, 2019 Was looking at the belt and found a 100 at the end of the tongue. Along with a stamp B.A.B 8 37 on the inside of the belt. Would 100 be the size? And for the other stamp is it a maker's mark? Is there a leather tab on the buckle ? They are dated there as well. Also no tab. But the belt itself has about 3 markings I've seen.
