I recently acquired this rifle for a US Navy display of "Spoils of war". I'm not really a Japanese military collector but this rifle I believe will fit well into my display. A monopod would go nicely with the aircraft sights and the dust cover on the bolt. One does not see nice clean rifles like this any more at the gun shows. Make sure you find a Kokura pod, which are typically unmarked, as opposed to a Toriimatsu and Toyo-Kogyo pods. Your sling appears to be a swedish sling. Enjoy your rifle!
