Almost reminds you of the Soviet medals with that metal backing. How cool! So . . . are these minis or fulls? Was this something that Imperial Germany did regularly? Is the BSVM actually silver or Zink? Medal bars like that were made to remove the medals so just the ribbon bar could be worn. Thanks for sharing. Here is one of my favorite groups. The medals are mounted in the following order using the dates of the medals: 1864, 1871, 1866, 1864, 1898.
