Guest Windraider Posted March 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 27, 2019 Hello, Here is the next generation of the M65 helmet from about 1961/62. This one was made in 1963. He still has the inner lining inspired by the inner lining of the Wehrmacht. The lining is riveted to the helmet via three straps and can only be replaced with difficulty. The leather is riveted to an inner ring made of galvanized sheet steel. The chin strap is attached via 4 loops. The head size is stamped on the leather and the inner ring. For cushioning 4 cushions made of sponge rubber are attached. The helmet has a light roughened paint. In contrast to the model 1957-1961 / 62, the cushions with cotter pins are attached to the inner ring and are no longer tied with cords. The cheek guards are not sewn but slapped. This type of chinstrap was retained until 1990.
