Militaria of the Past Posted March 31, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 31, 2019 Friend picked this up a couple weeks ago and i got it off him. Can anyone tell me how long they used this design? Im not familiar with them as this is the first one ive seen. The helmet is green like in the second photo. The first photo just has bad lighting. javorca Posted August 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 13, 2019 this is an italian M. 16 model, produced in Italy to remplace Adrian helmet (produced in France) during WWI. It was used by army and fascist militia till new model born in 1933, but was also used till end of WWII by UNPA (Unione Nazionale Protezione Antiaerea- Civil defense during air attacks), red cross and factory firefighters. Some unit of italian army, like artillery or not fighting units used them too during WWII. This example has not original paint for what I can understand. WWI paint was different between reissued helmets used during years '30 or WWII, and this paint is different of both of them
