Enfield Mark IV* 22 Caliber Rifle with Parker-Hiscock Magazine

Here is a Lee Enfield marked "Sht.22/Mk IV*" with with initials G.R. below Crown on right side of the stock socket. The rifle has a Hiscock-Parker .22 caliber repeating magazine housed in the body of a conventional 303 magazine. This repeater is suitable for both basic marksmanship practice and "rapid fire" on small bore ranges. The rifle has the Crown marking and arrow going forward on the trigger guard. The Parker-Hiscock system had a very short service life, being added to inventory in 1915 and declared obsolete in 1920.

I appreciate that this is a four-year-old topic, but it appears very high up in an online search for the Hiscock-Parker magazine, and it is sadly seriously at fault.

The magazine shown as an H-P is in fact the post-WW2 magazine for the Lee-Enfield Rifle No.7, a .22 training rifle issued to the Royal Air Force.

and correct information on the Hiscock-Parker magazine is available here
