Kanemono Posted April 12, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2019 Here is one of my favorite items from ebay. I found this lamp on ebay a few years ago, the shell was painted black and it was very dirty. However, it was a buy now for $100.00. I figured the parts were worth much more than that so I bought it. When it came I took it all apart and stripped the paint from the shell. The helmet was in mint condition under the paint. I carefully cleaned the gold plated pieces and then had the lamp re-wired and bought a shade (the shade cost more than the helmet). The helmet is dated 1873 and even has the original liner. The only thing not original is a brass plate covering the ares where the horsetail was in the rear of the helmet. stratasfan Posted April 24, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 24, 2019 Boy, my Mom always jokes about the phase of everything being able to be turned into a lamp! I think this is cool! Fun eBay find, that's for sure!
