MattS Posted July 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 4, 2019 I've had this helmet for 25+ years and always thought it was British. Turns out to be Canadian! The liner is marked "7 3/4 VMC II 1942" and the shell is marked "C.L./C. 1943". From what I've found, the shell was made by the Canadian Motor Lamp Co. of Windsor and the liner by Viceroy Manufacturing Co of Toronto. edstorey Posted July 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2019 That is a nice example of a Canadian Mk II Helmet. What does it have for a central screw?
MattS Posted July 4, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted July 4, 2019 It was a wide flat brass slotted screw that broke off probably 15 years ago so I replaced it with a smaller brass screw and washer. I kept the original though!
Ranger44 Posted January 18, 2021 Share #4 Posted January 18, 2021 Nice helmet in great condition. Ones like this with a large size liner are getting harder to find.
MattS Posted January 20, 2021 Author Share #5 Posted January 20, 2021 Thanks, to be honest it probably hasn't seen the light of day since I posted it.
